Where was this guy two years ago?

Hope springs eternal. This story in the Jerusalem Post is somewhat encouraging.

However, Abu Sharif, the prime mover of the Palestine Democratic Party, also has a bit of moral myopia vis-a-vis suicide bombing and other terrorist actions (there were two just today). This from the JP story:

Extremists with their "terrible actions" have seriously damaged Palestinians' international image and enabled the "right-wing government of [Prime Minister] Ariel Sharon to expose loopholes in the system's administration and security," he [Abu Sharif] said.

So, apparently, if those terrorist acts did not damage the Palestinians' international image, they would have been acceptable? Well, at least he called them "terrible actions"; there is hope. What remains to be seen is, a) does he say the same things about democracy to the Arabic media, and b) are there enough like-minded Palestinians who are brave enough to join with him.

In the meantime, it is time for some serious name-taking and butt-kicking by the IDF to stop the terror.
