why are we sitting at the same table as syria?

The United Nations Security Council cast, apparently for the first time, a resolution condemning the terrorist attacks on a hotel and civilian airliner near Mombassa, Kenya, in November (New York Times story here). Whoopdeedo. The Security Council, clearly breaking new ground for them, does not think that attacking Israelis is a good thing.

But wait, there's more. Syria voted against this condemnation of terror, according to the story, "arguing that the resolution would lack balance."

The real question for the United States is why it is still a dues-paying member of any organization that would allow a scumbag nation such as Syria cast a vote. I never thought I'd be saying this, but here goes:
