Why does Yemen need these missiles?

In an update, it seems the Bush Administration talks much tougher than it acts. The U.S. gives "reluctant" assent to deliver the missiles to their destination, the terrorist-loving "nation" of Yemen. Oh, of course, Yemen has assured us that the missiles will not be given over to al qaeda or other terrorist groups. And, their word is, of course, their bond.

Spinmeister Fleischer spun us this:

we have looked at this matter thoroughly, and there is no provision under international law prohibiting Yemen from accepting delivery of missiles from North Korea

This is one of those times when there should have been provisions made under common sense and the common defense that would trump whatever "provision of international law" could not be made to apply here. This also shines a bright light on those who practice "international law" and the camp-followers in our State Department. When faced with a pirate regime (North Korea), sending missiles to another pirate regime (Yemen) in an unmarked vessel flying no flag, it would seem that the cargo would belong to whichever nation's warships capture it. Give the missiles to Spain, I say.

The Bush administration has its hands full, toadying up to terrorist states such as Yemen while claiming that they are somehow part of the solution, and not part of the problem. Here's the 64-thousand dollar question: Exactly why does Yemen need these missiles? Against who are they defending their "nation"?
