Jihad at Harvard

The noise surrounding this likely far exceeds what it is worth. Yes, "jihad" means struggle, and no, all Muslims are not wild-eyed dervishes intent on mayhem and killing us infidels. But, seriously, folks, does any rational person out there truly believe that Islam as practiced is not a violent, misogynic religion?

The fact that Christianity included the Crusades the Inquisition, the current sex and authority scandals, not to mention those lovely chuddie-smellers Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell, says very little about the true glory of today's church -- about the love that Jesus has for all. That Christians are not perfect may be true; but at least they are making the attempt.

The Jews, actually the true source of the "Golden Rule" (it's in the Book, people), are totally in sync with the notion that we help each other and love our neighbor -- as the Jewish faith is practiced today.

The essence of the argument is, don't just look at what we say we do; consider what we actually do.
