Gee, what a surprise...

From the Times, "Palestinian militant groups rejected Monday a new deal to ease Israel's military clampdown in the Gaza Strip and a West Bank city in return for a reduction of violence."

The "militants", more accurately described as terrorists, include the usual suspects from Hamas and Islamic Jihad. It is worth nothing that Yasser's puppies agreed to this "deal" "in a four-hour meeting between Israeli Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer and a Palestinian delegation headed by Interior Minister Abdel Razzak al-Yahya and President Yasser Arafat's security adviser, Mohammed Dahlan." It's fascinating to conceptualize that, somehow, the Palestinian "authority" would muster the will to actually police its own people. Absent any clear action or intent, one must conclude that the difference between Hamas et al and the PA is...drum roll, maestro...zilch.

Oh, and a sidebar from the axis of evil department: Abu Nidal died. This is good. Hope it was painful. But the important point is that this mofo died in Iraq. Any connection between Saddam and terrorists? Hmmm...give me a minute to think about this...
